Ranchi, March 04 (HS). State Urban Development Authority Director Amit Kumar said that all the urban families of the state are being given free water connections. Also, no fee will be charged for the first 5000 liters of water in all urban residences, such a provision has been made in the rules.
Amit Kumar was addressing the bidder conference organized in the auditorium of JUDCO on Monday. He said that the process of providing drinking water supply to about one lakh houses i.e. five lakh people of 12 urban bodies of the state is being started. Kumar said that by organizing the bider conference, the views of both the sides come to the fore. This also increases the participation of companies. The Urban Development Department is working with the resolve to provide safe drinking water on top priority basis in all the municipal bodies of the state government. Not only this, water resources are also being developed for the availability of drinking water.
He said that with the help of Asia Development Bank, World Bank and Centre's AMRUT scheme, free water connections are being provided to provide drinking water in urban bodies. By organizing such bidder conferences, renowned companies of the country get an opportunity to work on the basis of high technology.
Project Director (Technical) of JUDCO Gopalji said that whatever questions are being asked and doubts raised in this conference will be resolved at all costs. Deputy Project Director Utkarsh Mishra gave detailed information about Amrit Yojana and the three bodies running with the assistance of Asia Development Bank.
