Mumbai: A pick-up truck and an eco-van collided near Dasvel junction in Shindkheda, Duthe this morning. Five people, including three women, died on the spot in this accident. Four people were seriously injured.
According to the information received, the incident happened this morning. After completing the Kirtan program from Varul village, all these people were returning home in a private Eco van. Then near Dasvel Kanta, a pickup coming from the front at full speed hit the Eco van. So a terrible accident happened.
In this accident, five people including three women died on the spot. Four people were seriously injured in this accident. The collision was so severe that both the vehicles overturned.
As soon as the information about this incident was received, the local people immediately reached the spot and took all the injured to the hospital for treatment. After this, the police made a Panchnama of the spot and conducted a preliminary investigation. According to the preliminary investigation, the police suspect that the pickup van driver Deepak is drunk.
The pickup van driver also sustained injuries in the accident. Therefore, he was admitted to the hospital for treatment. Tourists from Patan, Pashte, Amalthe, Parsamal and Shindkheda villages were involved in this accident.
After the accident, the police registered a case against the driver of the pickup van under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and further investigated the matter.
