Patna, July 11 (HS). Five people died on Thursday due to lightning at two different places in Madhubani district of Bihar. Along with this, four people got burnt. The first incident took place on Thursday afternoon in Bathnaha and Bharha villages of Phulparas block. Many labourers were working in the fields here. Meanwhile, they got struck by lightning.
In the incident, two workers died on the spot while one died while being taken to the hospital. The deceased include Makun Safi of Bharha village, Ashiana Khatoon and Alauddin alias Qari Safi of Bathnaha. The second incident took place in Dumariya village of Basaha Panchayat of Babubarhi block, where Sangeeta Devi of Dumariya village and Manju Devi of Beladoura village died.
On receiving information about the incident, the local police reached the spot and sent the bodies for postmortem. There is mourning in the village due to the death of 5 people due to lightning.
