Five killed as tanker falls into 200 feet deep gorge at Kasara Ghat | News India

Mumbai: In a horrific accident in Kasarghat this afternoon, a tanker went out of control, broke the railing and fell into a 200 feet deep gorge, killing five people while three others were seriously injured. All the deceased and injured were found to be residents of Sinnar and Sangameshwar taluks.

According to the information received in this regard, a tanker was coming down from Nashik via Kasara Ghat at around 3:30 pm today. When the driver lost control of the tanker near Bulgar Point, the tanker broke the iron railing and fell into a 200 feet deep valley. In this horrific accident, five people died on the spot while 3 people were seriously injured. As soon as the incident was reported, the local police, highway police, disaster team arrived with a crane and the bodies were taken out with the help of crane and rope.

According to further information, the deceased included Vijay Dhuge (60), Aarti Jaibhave (31), Sarthak Badh (20), driver Yogesh Adhav (50) and Ramdas Darade (50). While Akshay Dhuge (30), Shlok Jaibhave (five years) and Aniket Wagh (21) were seriously injured, they were shifted to Kasara Rural Hospital in an ambulance, Shahpur tehsildar Parmeshwar Kasule said.
