Gorakhpur, 07 December (Hindustan Reporter). Five people, including two children, died in a road accident that took place late Friday night in the Cantt police station area of Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Three other people were also injured in the accident. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed his condolences on the loss of life in a road accident.
Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Grover said that three motorcycles collided with each other late on Friday night near Canal Road in Mohaddipur of Gorakhpur city. In the accident, a father and two daughters riding on one bike died and two youths riding on the other bike lost their lives. Three people including mother and son are injured in the accident. The bodies have been identified as Vikrant (34), a resident of Mohaddipur power house, and his two-year-old daughter Lado, a one-year-old second daughter. The two youths who died were identified as Monu Chauhan (32) of Rustampur and Suraj (28), resident of Bettiahata Hanuman Temple. Vikrant’s wife Nikita (30) and five-year-old son Angad were injured in the accident, while the third person has not been identified.
SSP said that according to family members, Suraj and Monu were returning home from the Mundan program around 12 in the night on the same bike. On the other hand, Vikrant was going back to his home in Mohaddipur from the Manglik program at his in-laws’ house. His wife and children were sitting in his bike. According to eyewitnesses, Vikrant tried to turn his bike towards Canal Road near Canal Road in Mohaddipur, at the same time his bike collided with the bike of Suraj and Monu coming from Kudaghat. Meanwhile, the third bike rider also became a victim of the same accident.
