Jammu, 17 May (HIST). The five day Civil Defense Basic Training Program was concluded at Soil Conservation Training School, Miran Sahib, Jammu. The training, which started on May 13, was conducted under the supervision of Deputy Controller Civil Defence, Jammu. A total of 42 trainees participated in the program and received comprehensive instruction from civil defense experts. The training covered essential life-saving skills, including first aid, fire prevention and management, treatment of snake bites, suffocation response and other important techniques to deal with natural and man-made disasters.
A highlight of the event was a high level demonstration organized in collaboration with State Disaster Response Force, SDRF 2nd Battalion, Jammu. The demonstration featured emergency rescue methods for evacuating victims from high-rise buildings and road accidents during fire or earthquake scenarios. Principal of the training school, Neha Mehta, appreciated the efforts of the civil defense team in organizing and conducting the program. He thanked them for providing important skills that enhance community preparedness and resilience in the face of emergencies.
The training program underlined the importance of civil defense readiness and equipped trainees with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond effectively to emergencies, thereby contributing to the safety and well-being of the community.
