East Champaran, 23 April (H.I.S.). Kesariya police station of the district has averted a major robbery by arresting 5 criminals with arms near the canal bridge on Chakia-Kesaria road. The arrested criminals have been described as Akhilesh Kumar alias Pintu, Laxman Kumar alias Bhanu, Lalmohan Kumar, Guddu Malli and Ajay Kumar of Kesariya police station area.
The police has taken the above action on the instructions of SP Kantesh Kumar Mishra. A pistol, 2 live cartridges, a looted bike, 5 mobile phones including one looted mobile phone and a bike used in the robbery have been seized from the arrested criminals. The police has achieved this big achievement. It is said that all the above criminals were planning to commit a major robbery and were arrested in a raid conducted on secret information. At present the police is busy checking the crime records of the arrested criminals.
