Jammu, August 18 (HS). Under Operation Kamdhenu, Jammu Police tightened its grip against cow smugglers and arrested five cow smugglers from two different places in Jammu and freed 26 cows.
According to information, police team of Police Station Nagrota foiled a bovine smuggling attempt and rescued 19 bovine animals and seized a truck registration number JK18/8668 loaded with bovine animals. The driver of the vehicle Mohammad Arif son of Abdul Ghani caste Gujjar resident Kashi Shera Talwar, Tehsil and District Reasi was arrested on the spot. In this regard, a case has been registered in Police Station Nagrota under Animal Transportation Act.
Apart from this, the police party of Police Outpost Sidhra foiled another attempt of cow smuggling, in which three cow smugglers have been arrested. They have been identified as Fakir Mohammad son of Mosham Din, Rashid Ahmed son of Rehan Ali and Mushtaq Hussain son of Sultan Ali, all residents of Bain Bajalta Tehsil and District Jammu. They were taking 07 cows on foot towards Kashmir Valley without any permission of DM. In this regard, a case has been registered in Nagrota police station. Investigation has been started in both the cases.
