Bhagalpur, June 21 (HS). About 300 women and men fishermen staged a sit-in on Friday for their various demands under the joint banner of Ganga Mukti Andolan and Bihar Pradesh Matsyajeevi Jal Shramik Sangh against the eviction of fishermen from Ganga in the name of Dolphin Sanctuary and filing false cases against them by the Forest Department by snatching their nets and boats.
The people protesting handed over a memorandum of their demands to the District Magistrate through the Magistrate. The meeting organized during the protest was addressed by Bihar Pradesh Matsyajeevi Jal Shramik Sangh convener Yogendra Sahni and others.
