The great festival of democracy has started in Jharkhand from today. Assembly elections are being held in the state in two phases, with the first phase of voting starting at 7 am. Voting will continue till 5 pm. In the first phase, voting is taking place on 43 seats today. Whereas in the second phase, voting will be held on 38 seats on November 20. Along with Maharashtra, election results will come on 23rd November. The tenure of the current assembly in Jharkhand is ending on January 5, 2025. There are also 950 booths in the state, where voting time will be till 4 pm only.

According to the Election Commission, a total of 683 candidates are in the fray in the first phase of Jharkhand Assembly elections. 73 women candidates are also included in this. Of the 43 assembly seats in the first phase, 17 are general, while 20 seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribes and 6 seats for Scheduled Castes.
A CRPF jawan posted on election duty was shot
A CRPF jawan posted on Latehar assembly election duty has been shot. After being shot, the injured soldier was admitted to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital for treatment. Where the doctor has referred him to Ranchi for better treatment. Preparations are being made to airlift the injured soldier to a big hospital in Ranchi. CRPF jawan Santosh Kumar Yadav was on duty in Latehar regarding the assembly elections. There was accidental firing during the protest early on Wednesday morning, in which Santosh Kumar Yadav was shot in the head. The soldiers deployed on strike admitted him to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital for immediate treatment.
