First FIR registered in Pali under the new law

Jaipur, July 1 (HS). Now, Section 103 of the Indian Judicial Code will be applied for murder instead of IPC Section 302. The laws that were in place since the British era have been abolished after 163 years. If caught stealing less than Rs 5000, the court can also sentence the person to sweep the streets.

The new Indian Penal Code has been renamed as Indian Judicial Code from 1 July 2024 across the country. On Monday, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma addressed Rajasthan Police, CLG members, Police Mitra and Suraksha Sakhis through VC regarding the new changes in the law. During this, he said that justice will be delivered soon under the new law.

In this regard, the first case of the state under the new Indian Penal Code was registered at Sadari police station of Pali district on Monday morning at 10:22. There was a dispute with the victim regarding taking out the tractor from the field, after which he was beaten up. Sadari police station CI Champaram said that Madanlal, a resident of Morkha, gave a report and said that he drives a tractor. He does the work of ploughing people's fields on rent. On Sunday, June 30, he ploughed Sardar Singh's field, near which is Sumer Singh's field. Madanlal said that he got angry when the tractor was taken out from Sumer Singh's field. He was going with the tractor on Monday morning. During this, Sumer Singh stopped him midway and beat him up. Due to this, he suffered injuries on the head and elbow. The CI said that a case was registered under sections 115(2), 126(2), 324(4) and 324(5) of BNS. Whereas earlier it was registered under 323, 341 and 427 IPC. The injured is undergoing treatment at the Community Health Center in Sadari.

A case has been registered under the new law on the complaint of a woman in Lalsot police station of Dausa. DSP Uday Singh said that the victim reached her in-laws' house in the police station area from Delhi at 7 am on Monday. Where her two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law came and started throwing her belongings out of the house. When she protested, she was beaten up. Her modesty was violated by tearing her clothes. During this, the accused snatched the tops from her ears. During this, the people of the village intervened, otherwise the accused would have killed her. During this, the accused also threatened not to let her live in the in-laws' house. The woman reached at 12:30 pm. After that, a case was registered under BNS sections at 12:51 in the afternoon. When the woman reached the police station with a complaint about the case, the Chief Minister's VC was over at that time. Police officers were also present in the police station. As soon as the woman complained, a case was registered under sections 115/2, 126/2, 303/2, 74 and 351/2 of the Indian Judicial Code. Earlier under IPC, this case was a crime under sections 323, 341, 379, 354, 506. But now with the implementation of Indian Justice Code in place of Indian Penal Code, the sections have been changed and new laws have been implemented in the whole country.

Minister of State for Home, Jawahar Singh Bedham said that if justice is delayed, then it is not justice. Therefore, with the new law, justice will be delivered as soon as possible. The central government has understood the pain of the victim and hence has brought this law. The police has a big role to play in delivering immediate justice and hence the police needs to work with great responsibility.
