Mumbai Underground Bullet Train Station: Mumbai Bullet Train Station is being constructed in the bottom up method, that is, excavation work has started from the ground level and concrete work has also started from the foundation.
Know the length and width of the slab
The slab is 3.5 meters deep, 30 meters long and 20 meters wide. This is the first of 69 slabs laid for the station, which will form the deepest construction level for the bullet train station.
Some interesting aspects of the slab
- 681 metric tons of steel reinforcement is used with 6200 rebar couplers
- 2254 cubic meter M60 grade concrete
- Total 4283 metric tons
- Concrete is supplied through two in-situ batching plants of 120 m3 capacity each. To keep the temperature below 25 °C while pouring concrete, the temperature is controlled by in-situ ice and chiller plants.
- Adequate waterproofing measures are ensured before laying the slab.
