Firing at Sarpanch’s house, 2 masked men captured in CCTV, major reason revealed

Punjab News: Two masked miscreants opened fire at the house of the Sarpanch of Balerkhanpur village of Kapurthala. The accused fired one shot and fled from the spot. However, two masked men have been captured in CCTV firing. A case was registered against the accused in Sadar police station on Thursday.

According to the FIR registered in Police Station Sadar, 58-year-old Sukhwinder, resident of village Balerkhanpur, has given a statement that he is the Sarpanch of the village and does farming. Both his sons live in Spain. At around 12 o’clock on the night of 15th November, his nephew Sukhjinderpal Singh woke him up by calling and saying that a sound was coming from outside.

When we turned on the lights and came out, we saw that there was a bullet mark on the gate. Then we checked the CCTV cameras installed in the neighborhood and saw two masked youths coming on foot. These two youths stood in front of the gate of their house and fired and ran away.

He said that this firing was neither done for ransom, nor was there any threat from any gangster, nor was any phone call received. One round is fired only for the purpose of intimidation. Let us tell you that on October 1, similar firing was done at a house in the village.
