Fire in hospital, shops, mall in UP's Bahraich: Internet shut down

Lucknow: After the violence in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, there was panic even in Lucknow. Violence broke out again on Monday and many people came out on the streets with iron rods and sticks in their hands. Meanwhile, many shops were set on fire. At the same time, vehicles were also heavily vandalized. Earlier on Monday, people's anger increased after the death of a youth during communal violence.

Violence broke out in Maharajganj area during Durga Puja on Sunday, in which police arrested 31 people. Violent protests were seen in many areas on Monday. People raised slogans against the police and administration. Later, the police dispersed the crowd and took out a flag march. However, the violence did not stop. Home Secretary Sanjeev Gupta and Additional Director General Amitabh Yash reached the spot. Apart from this, a large police convoy was mobilized.

Controversy regarding violence is increasing. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi appealed to the Yogi government to maintain peace. People were also asked not to take law and order into their own hands and maintain peace. A 22-year-old youth named Ram Gopal Mishra died during the violence on Sunday. The news of these deaths spread throughout the area, after which unrest is being seen. Meanwhile, miscreants also set fire to a local hospital. The X-ray machine inside was broken. A nearby medical store was also heavily vandalized. The miscreants took whoever they found hostage, vandalized it and set it on fire.

Incidents of setting fire to some houses and shops have also come to light in Maharajganj area. A two-storey building was set on fire here. When two cars parked there were also set on fire. Besides, vandalism was also done with sticks. Meanwhile, the family members of deceased Ram Gopal Mishra have demanded justice from the administration and have also demanded bulldozing of the houses of all the accused involved in the murder. On the other hand, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath discussed the incident with the officials and ordered to stop the violence.
