But due to the scorching heat and heatwave, more than 900 people, including 90 Indians, died here.

So far, no official statement has come from the Saudi government in this regard. Also, no clarification has been given regarding the number of dead. However, hundreds of Muslim families are still waiting for the bodies of their relatives to be sent back home.
Extreme heat turns deadly
According to foreign media reports, at least 900 people died during the five-day Haj pilgrimage. According to the data, this time more than 18 lakh Muslims from all over the world participated in Haj. During this time, severe heat was seen. On Monday, the maximum temperature in Mecca reached 51.8 degrees. According to a report, at least 600 people have died in Egypt alone. According to the data released by different countries, 992 people have died so far.
Haj pilgrims from these countries died
According to Saudi diplomats, 90 Indians also died during the five-day Haj pilgrimage. All the pilgrims who died died due to natural causes. Apart from Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Iran, Tunisia, Iraq and Senegal have confirmed the death of their citizens. However, in many cases the authorities have not given the reasons. The families of the deceased pilgrims are posting about their relatives on social media so that any information about them can be obtained.
