Bikaner, 2 November (HS). A fire broke out in the store of the Urban Development Trust near the Registrar Office in Gandhi Colony, Bikaner on the day of Diwali. The fire was so fierce that even the nearby houses were in danger. In time, the people of the area first tried to extinguish the fire by pouring water at their level and later the fire brigade reached and controlled the fire.
According to the information, there was a store of old items of UIT near Gandhi Colony Registrar Office in which a massive fire broke out. Here the old boats of Lilypond and many other items were burnt. The fire was reported at the police control room. After which the fire brigade reached the spot. BJP leader Ashok Prajapat along with police and fire brigade tried to control the fire.
As soon as the fire broke out, people nearby started shouting. After this, people living in Gandhi Nagar area reached there and tried to control the fire. Due to this, instead of being extinguished, the fire continued to grow. There was a fear that it might reach the surrounding residential areas. After this the fire brigade reached the spot. The fire could be controlled after about an hour of effort. The property of the Urban Development Trust has been badly damaged by the fire. However, it has not yet been decided what the total loss was.
