Jhansi, 25 October (Hindustan Reporter). A sudden fire broke out on Friday in Udaipur Intercity train going from Khajuraho to Jaipur. This created chaos among the passengers traveling in the train. On receiving information, GRP and Railway officials reached the spot and the fire was brought under control. After this the passengers heaved a sigh of relief.
Khajuraho-Udaipur intercity train was running from Khajuraho to Jaipur as usual on Friday. As soon as the train reached Mauranipur station in Jhansi, a thick plume of smoke suddenly started rising from the pantry car of the train. As soon as the smoke was seen, there was panic among the passengers traveling in the train with screams. Passengers hurriedly got down on the platform. Many people saved their lives by jumping from the train. As soon as information about the fire was received, the police and railway administration immediately reached the spot. After a lot of effort, the fire in the pantry car could be controlled. During this period the train remained standing for 48 minutes. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
