Dhanbad, April 2 (HS). A sudden fire broke out this morning in a book stall of the book fair located at the Zilla Parishad grounds. The fire was soon brought under control due to the wisdom of the stall holder and the security guard. However, two fire brigade vehicles also reached the spot. The fire was brought under control even before this.
The cause of the fire is not known at present. Organizers are trying to find out the cause of the fire. The stall holder told that some books have been burnt while the expensive books worth lakhs of rupees from two stalls have been ruined due to getting wet with water while extinguishing the fire. Book stall operators and publishers accused organizer Gopal Bhattacharya of not making proper arrangements for fire protection during the book fair.
It is noteworthy that about 60 stalls have been set up in this book fair organized from March 31. The fair will continue till April 7.
