Fire breaks out in Delhi's infant care centre, 6 newborn babies dead, 1 critical

A fire broke out in a child care centre in Vivek Vihar area of ​​Shahdara, Delhi late at night. 12 children were rescued from the fire. Out of the 12 newborns, six died while one had already died. 5 newborns are admitted in the hospital, one of them is in critical condition.

Officials said that 12 newborn babies were rescued from the building but 6 died during treatment in the hospital. While one child was taken dead. The cause of the fire is not yet known.

According to the information, at around 11.32 pm on Saturday night, a fire was reported in a baby care centre located in IIT Block B of Vivek Vihar in Shahdara area of ​​Delhi. As soon as the information was received, 12 fire brigade vehicles reached the spot. According to the fire brigade department, children and staff were present in the child care centre. The three-storey building was completely engulfed in fire. A van parked outside the building was also completely burnt. The firefighters on the spot immediately started extinguishing the fire.
