Varanasi, 19 October (Hindustan Reporter). Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to his parliamentary constituency Varanasi on Sunday (20 October) on a one-day visit. The security arrangements of the Prime Minister will remain impenetrable during his stay of about 06 hours in the rural and urban areas of the district. A final full grand rehearsal was conducted on Saturday to test the security arrangements at the Prime Minister's venue and the route to and from.
The SPG team along with district administration officers conducted fleet rehearsal with Prime Minister Modi's dummy car. After rehearsal of landing and takeoff at Babatpur Airport, the dummy fleet reached Shankara Netralaya located in Hariharpur. During this time, policemen deployed for security at various places from the airport to the venue were seen alert. From Hariharpur the dummy fleet reached Sigra Sports Stadium via Circuit House Court. Officers and police personnel deployed on duty at marked points on the way also remained alert. At the venue of the public meeting, SPG officers saw the VVIP stage, meeting venue, entry and exit gates of the venue, barricading, temporary parking lot, deployment of security forces. During the final rehearsal, tight security arrangements were made around the venue. After the rehearsal, the SPG team cordoned off both the venues.
Amidst high alert in Varanasi Police Commissionerate, forces have been deployed at every nook and corner at the venue of Prime Minister Modi's event. Roof top forces will be deployed on the multi-storey buildings along the routes through which the Prime Minister will travel in the city. Dog squads, bomb disposal squads, fire brigade and local intelligence unit personnel will be present at every step on all routes and event venues. After rehearsing the security arrangements, the police officers briefed the force and told the soldiers about their duties and asked them to be ready.
It is noteworthy that traffic diversion plan will also be implemented during the VIP program. SPG, NSG commandos, ATS, paramilitary forces, PAC and police forces will be deployed in Prime Minister Modi's five-tier security system. Forces have also been called from other districts for security arrangements. Three separate zones have been created at Babatpur Airport, venue of the event in Hariharpur, Sigra Sports Stadium. Also, the Prime Minister's road route has been made a separate zone. The responsibility of each zone has been given to IPS officers. ADG Security will personally monitor this by staying on the spot.
