The Meteorological Center (IMD) has issued a very warning alert regarding heavy rains and stormy winds in many parts of the state. A total of 13 major districts of Jharkhand, including the capital Ranchi and the industrial city Bokaro, can witness a fierce monsoon season today, where there is every possibility of torrential rains along with thunderstorms. Keeping in mind the safety of the general public, the Meteorological Department has given strict instructions to remain alert regarding storms and thunderbolts. Danger of heavy rain looms over these 13 districts including Ranchi and Bokaro

According to the latest forecast of the Meteorological Department, due to the presence of monsoon turf line and active clouds, heavy activity is being recorded in the southern and central parts of Jharkhand. The 13 districts where the worst weather and heavy rains are expected today include the capital Ranchi, Bokaro, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Gumla, Khunti, Lohardaga along with some other adjoining areas. In all these districts, the sky has been covered with dark, dense clouds since morning and heavy showers have started at many places, due to which a significant drop in the temperature has also been recorded.

Meteorological Department’s high alert regarding lightning and strong storm

Not only heavy rain, but the Meteorological Department has given a special warning to the people to avoid thunderstorms and deadly lightning during this period. During this active phase of monsoon, incidents of lightning fall due to collision of clouds increase rapidly, which can prove fatal for people living in open fields or under trees. Meteorologists have clarified that during the rains, strong gusty winds (storms) can also blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour, due to which there is a danger of tree branches breaking on the roads or damage to the mud houses.

Normal life affected, administration and citizens advised to follow

Due to this sudden change in pleasant but dangerous weather in Jharkhand, normal life and daily work has also been partially affected. Due to continuous rains, there are reports of waterlogging problem in low-lying areas of the city and slowing down of traffic on the roads. The Disaster Management Department and the local administration have appealed to the people to come out of their homes only when absolutely necessary and take shelter in safe places or permanent houses during bad weather. Farmers have also been advised to avoid going to the fields during thunderstorms so that they can stay safe from any untoward incident.
