Fields of farmers who burn crop residues will be marked with red ink.

Jind, 11 October (Hindustan Reporter). Under the crop residue management campaign, a meeting was organized with the Sarpanch, Numberdar, Village Secretary and Patwaris of Safidon sub-division on Friday in the auditorium located at the Mini Secretariat. On this occasion, BDPO of Safidon section Naresh Kumar and other officers and employees of Agriculture Department were present. In the meeting, Naib Tehsildar of Safidon Vikas Kumar said that if any farmer sets fire to the paddy residue in his fields, then appropriate legal action will be taken against him and his land will be marked with the fort number in red ink in the Patwari records.

Due to which the benefit of the scheme run by the Agriculture Department for farmer welfare will not be available. On online registration in CRS scheme, the farmer will be given a grant of Rs 1,000 per acre as incentive. Told the public representatives and officials present that the farmer's farm land is getting spoiled due to burning of crop residues. This not only destroys the friendly insects living in the ground, but the smoke mixed in the air of the surrounding area is also becoming the cause of physical diseases of the person. He said that with the help of modern agricultural equipment, farmers can not only manage the paddy crop residues but can also reduce the expenses incurred at the time of sowing their wheat crop.

In the meeting, Sub-Divisional Officer of Agriculture Department Sushil Kumar asked the Sarpanches and Numberdars to make announcement in their respective villages about not burning crop residues. Committees have also been formed at block and village levels for crop residue management. Agriculture department personnel, revenue department patwari, village secretary, village sarpanch and numberdar have been included in the committee. This committee will inform the concerned authorities about the incidents of burning of crop residue in their respective areas.
