For lovers of luxury and fast cars, Italian supercar manufacturer Ferrari has launched its most powerful road car till date in the Indian market. Ferrari 849 Testarossa Has been officially launched. The starting price of this plug-in hybrid supercar, which will be launched in the country on March 15, 2026, has been kept at ₹ 10.37 crore (ex-showroom). This new hybrid supercar will replace the Ferrari SF90 Stradale in the market and is coming to directly compete with the Lamborghini Revuelto.
70 years old racing history is hidden behind the name ‘Red Head’
With this car, Ferrari has revived its nearly 70 years old historical name. In 1956, Ferrari’s racing cars whose cam covers were painted red were named ‘Testarossa’. In Italian it simply means “red head”. Apart from this, the “849” in the name of the car also has a special meaning, which refers to its engine – that is, it has an 8 cylinder engine and the capacity of each of its cylinders is 490cc.
1970s look and tremendous aerodynamic design
In terms of design, this car looks quite different and aggressive from the SF90. Its front look has been inspired by the endurance racing prototypes of the 1970s and the classic Testarossa of the 1980s. Very thin LED headlights have been provided in the car.
-
Wheels and Brakes: The side profile of the car features large 20-inch alloy wheels with high-performance ceramic brake callipers and staggered tires (tires of different sizes).
-
1970’s Racing Trick: The rear of the car has a twin-tail design, which is reminiscent of the 512S racing car. It has an active spoiler that can generate up to 100 kg of additional downforce by changing its position in less than 1 second. At a speed of 250 km/hr its total downforce reaches 415 kg.
Unmatched power of 1,050 PS and top speed of more than 330 km/h
The Ferrari 849 Testarossa has a 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which alone generates power of 830 PS. To support this engine, 3 electric motors (two on the front wheels and one at the rear) have been added, which work on the modern technology of Formula-1.
Speed magic: This entire system together generates a total of 1,050 PS of strong power. The car has a 7.45 kWh battery, due to which it can run up to 25 kilometers only in electric mode. Talking about speed, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.3 seconds and 200 km/h in just 6.3 seconds. Its top speed is more than 330 km/hour.
Cockpit-like interior and service support in India
As soon as you step inside the cabin of the car, you will feel like a fighter jet or a race car. Premium leather, carbon fiber and Alcantara material has been used in its interior. Features like a large 16-inch digital display for the driver, a separate performance screen for the passenger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto have been provided. The old haptic touch on the steering wheel has now been replaced with solid physical switches and carbon-fibre paddle shifters. In India, Ferrari will sell this car through its showrooms in Mumbai and New Delhi, while its main service support will be operated from Bengaluru.
