Federal government starts investigation into PTI’s violent protests in Islamabad

Islamabad, 04 December (HIST). The federal government of Pakistan has started an investigation into the violence that took place during the recent protests by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Islamabad. The federal government has formed a task force to investigate. The task force will identify the rioters responsible for the deaths of paramilitary forces and police officers during the protests.

According to Dawn newspaper, the office of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the task force meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister on Tuesday. He directed the task force officers to take all measures to punish the protesters who killed personnel of law enforcement agencies and damaged public properties.

According to the PMO, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that an anti-riot force and a state-of-the-art forensic lab will be established in the country. Islamabad will be upgraded as a safe city. Officials told the Prime Minister that the rioters were being identified rapidly. They will be presented in the courts soon.-
