Man commits suicide due to wife harassment: Misuse of laws made for women and long pending cases in courts and date-on-date system are much talked about across the country. Because due to this lapse in law and order, a young man has lost his life. Actually, a person named Atul Subhash took his life by writing a 40-page suicide note. From which their mental pain can be estimated. The young man ended his life due to his wife’s harassment, false cases and date after date in the court.
What was the whole incident?
Atul Subhash, a resident of Bengaluru, Karnataka, was married to Nikita Singhania, a resident of Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. Everything went well for a few days after the marriage, then Nikita suddenly moved from Bangalore to Jaunpur. She filed a case of dowry harassment and domestic violence against her husband Atul and in-laws.
In-laws were also accused
In the video made before suicide, Atul Subhash said, ‘My wife Nikita Singhania, mother-in-law Nisha Singhania, brother-in-law Anurag and uncle-father-in-law Sushil Singhania are responsible for my death. My wife and in-laws conspired to extort money. His family implicated me in a false case. Ruined my life and that of my family.
120 dates in 2 years
In his video, Atul said, ‘So far dates have been given in 120 cases and I myself have gone from Bengaluru to Jaunpur 40 times. Apart from this, my parents and brother are also facing court pressure. You will be surprised to know that nothing happens in the court on most of the dates. Sometimes there are no judges and sometimes there is a strike. During the hearing, lawyers of either party can ask for the next date. I get only 23 days leave in a year and now I am fed up with this system.
The case went from lower court to high court
Atul has written in the suicide note that Nikita Singhania has filed 6 cases in the lower court and three in the High Court. Nikita has falsely accused her parents and brother of murder, attempt to murder, unnatural sex, domestic violence and taking dowry. There are provisions in these charges which make it difficult to get bail. The wife alleged in a case that, in 2019, my family demanded dowry of Rs 10 lakh, due to which her father died of shock. In cross-examination it was proved that Nikita’s father had heart disease and due to this he died. Due to his illness our marriage also took place early.
she was making strange demands
According to Atul’s claim in the video, ‘Nikita had filed a case against Atul’s family in 2022. Before his death, Atul had said about his married life, “My wife used to make strange demands even for physical satisfaction.” That’s why I kept a distance from him. My wife asked for a maintenance allowance of Rs 2 lakh per month in exchange for divorce. He also kept the children away and never allowed me to meet them.
Serious allegations against the judge
Atul accused the judge of Principal Family Court of Jaunpur and said that he had to bribe the clerk to get a date in his court. The judge pressured me to pay maintenance allowance of Rs 3 crore. Also asked for Rs 5 lakh to settle the case in December 2024. When I said that my wife was instigating me to commit suicide, the judge laughed. The clerk had earlier asked for Rs 3 lakh in 2022. When I did not give the bribe, he ordered maintenance, in which Rs 80 thousand was to be paid every month.
Throw my bones in the drain in front of the court
Along with this, Atul has appealed to the judiciary that his parents should not be harassed. Giving his last message to his wife, he said, hand over my children to my parents so that they can raise them with good values. I am instructing my brother that no one from my wife or in-laws will be found without a camera. You will crush my bone only when the oppressor is punished. If justice is not given then after my death throw my bones in the drain in front of the court.
