Fed up with poverty, husband and wife commit suicide in Kandivali flat, suicide note recovered

Mumbai, May 20 (Hindustan Reporter) Sensation has spread after the dead bodies of a husband and wife were found in a flat of Anubhuti Society located in Chanakya Nagar of Kandivali area. Samta Nagar police have recovered a suicide note from the spot, in which it is written that both of them are committing suicide due to poverty.

According to the police, Pramod Vasudev Chonkar lived with his wife Arpita Chonkar in Anubhuti Society of Arya Chanakya Nagar located in Kandivali. There was no child between these two. The people of the society did not see both of them outside for many days and today when the foul smell came from the flat, the local people informed the police. After this, the team of Samta Nagar police station reached the spot and broke the door and entered inside. Pramod's body was found hanging on the fan and Arpita was found dead on the bed.

Police have also found a suicide note on the spot, in which it is written that the elderly couple, fed up with poverty, has committed suicide of their own free will. Police have taken the body into their custody and sent it for post-mortem and are investigating further.
