Fazilka: A case of suicide by a youth resident of Dera Sacha Sauda Colony has come to light. It is being told that the body of the deceased was found hanging in the room of the house. Family members allege that their son’s wife got angry and went to her maternal home. He alleged that the deceased’s wife and his son were harassed by threatening them with police action. Due to this he became mentally disturbed.

Jyoti Kumar, father of the deceased Rajan (22) told that Rajan was married about one and a half years ago. After marriage, he often quarreled with his wife. He alleged that three-four times Rajan’s wife got angry and went to her parents’ house and he brought her back several times. His wife asked him to drop her at the bus stand to go to her parents’ house, which their son left at the bus stand, but his wife went to the police station and filed a complaint against him accusing him of assault.

Rajan was mentally disturbed due to these controversies. About 6 months ago his wife went to her parents’ house and did not return. He alleged that from there his wife and father-in-law were threatening him over phone that they would take police action against him. Troubled by this, he committed suicide by hanging himself in the room of his house. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took the body into custody and kept it in the mortuary of the government hospital. The family members have demanded action from the police against the accused father-in-law in this case. Statements of the victim’s family are being recorded by the police. Police say that appropriate action will be taken on the basis of the statements.
