Beijing: China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) has tested a missile near the Indian LAC inside the Karakoram Plateau. Chinese observers say that PLA has taken this step to send a message to the Indian Army. China has conducted this test at a time when talks are going on between the two sides regarding the military border in Beijing.
The BRICS summit is being held in Kazan, Russia and before this, the series of talks between India and China has become more extensive. It is being claimed that if relations between India and China soften, then there can be a meeting between PM Modi and Xi Jinping. In such a situation, PLA testing can increase tension.
China's news agency Xinhua said the PLA had tested the missile as part of its live-fire exercises. Meanwhile, a surface-to-air missile was also tested in the Karakoram Plateau. China tested this missile in the Xinjiang Military District, which is responsible for security in the western region.
According to a report in the South China Morning Post, this test was the first time that a subsonic cruise missile was shot down at an altitude of 5,300 meters. It was claimed that this successful test by the Chinese Army showed that its interceptor missile is effective even in bad weather.
Analysts say that now the place where China has conducted the test is near India's LAC. In such a situation, it is part of China's preventive strategy. There is a dispute between China and India over the Line of Actual Control spread over an area of 3,488 km. After the horrific violence, thousands of soldiers of both the countries are face to face.
