Uttar Pradesh by-election: BJP, which was defeated by rebellion in the Lok Sabha elections, has to face a similar situation in the by-elections held on nine assembly seats. The inputs received regarding rebellion after the elections have increased the concern of top BJP leaders. Now it is being assessed at the party level as to how much loss has been caused. The rebels have also been identified. Maximum complaints of treason have been received in Kundarki, Katehri and Phulpur. However, BJP is hopeful of excellent results.

Many former MPs-MLAs and old workers claimed tickets on all the seats but the party did not hurry in giving tickets and announced the candidates keeping in mind the seat-wise caste equation. Internal strife among people deprived of tickets has come to the fore on many seats. Complaints were being received in Majhwan, Katehari, Kundarki and Sisamau assembly constituencies ever since the announcement of the candidate. Party leaders also tried to stop it.

According to sources, most of the complaints have come from Katehri and Kundarki assembly constituencies. Apart from the party, inputs have also been received from BJP’s ally party workers trying to spoil the game in Majhwan. However, senior leaders of allies continued campaigning on these seats and appealing for the victory of NDA candidates. However, workers rebelled at the local level.

Lost in Lok Sabha elections also

Even in the Lok Sabha elections, BJP had to pay a heavy price due to rebellion in BJP due to arbitrary selection of candidates. BJP, which claimed to win all 80 seats, could win only 36 seats. Internal rebellion also came to light in the top leadership of BJP regarding the election results. There was a tussle between the government and the organization over the defeat. A similar situation has now been seen in the by-elections also. Therefore, it is believed that if the results do not come as expected, then allegations and counter-allegations may be seen within BJP.
