FDI inflows into India fall for second consecutive year to $71 billion | Live Updates, Unveiling the Latest India News Trends

The volume of foreign direct investment (FDI) in India remained stable at $71 billion in FY2023-24. The volume of FDI in India in the previous fiscal was $71.4 billion. Data released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) showed that except for the fall in December, the total fund inflows have improved after four consecutive months of decline at the start of the financial year. Fund inflows are estimated to have grown 31 per cent to nearly $6 billion in March, after the sharpest jump of 63 per cent to $8.4 billion in October. Of course monthly figures always show a vague picture, since any investment, whether greenfield or brownfield, can change the performance. The 0.6 per cent decline in FDI output in FY2023-24 is the second consecutive year. These figures come amid pressure from multinationals to capture a larger share of the investment pie.
