Mandi, 22 October (Hindustan Reporter). Deputy Commissioner Mandi Apoorva Devgan has said that the pending cases under Forest Conservation Act (FCA) in the district will be disposed of effectively. He gave this information in a meeting held at DRDA Hall in which officials from various departments were involved.
The Deputy Commissioner said that delays in FCA approval create hurdles in development projects. “Only after the approval of FCA, forest land can be transferred to departments for development works,” he said.
It was informed in the meeting that a total of 260 cases including 182 cases in Portal Environment 1.0 and 78 cases in Environment 2.0 are pending for environmental clearance in Mandi Forest Circle. The Deputy Commissioner reviewed these pending cases one by one and gave necessary instructions to the concerned departments.
He said, “Letters will be issued for disposal of 159 cases that have been removed from the portal. The concerned departments will have to take necessary action to re-upload these cases.”
Apoorva Devgan urged the Forest Department to cooperate with all the user agencies, so that the pending cases can be resolved expeditiously. He said that many cases in Mandi Van circle have been removed from the portal due to non-uploading of technical details and the authorities should take necessary action to resolve these cases.
