Bhagalpur, May 25 (HS). A bike and a Tata 407 collided head-on near Mirghati village on Ekchari-Mohanpur road in the Rasalpur police station area of the district on Saturday. In this accident, one person died on the spot, while a young man was seriously injured.
The deceased person is Shankar Sah, 50-year-old son of Vishnu Dev Sah, a resident of Sanokhar village. The injured youth is Shankar Sah's son. It is being told that both father and son were going to Kahalgaon for some important work. Meanwhile, a speeding transport vehicle Tata 407 going towards Mahagama hit them hard, in which the bike rider lost his balance and the person sitting behind fell and went under the wheel of the Tata 407 vehicle, due to which he died on the spot. The injured youth was sent to the hospital for treatment by the police with the help of the villagers.
The police chased the Tata 407 transport vehicle and caught it near Gangarapur village of Sanokhar police station area. The driver and cleaner were arrested and locked in the lockup of Sanokhar police station. The villagers, enraged by the incident, tried to block the road. The police station in-charge tried to convince the villagers a lot, then the villagers calmed down.
