Kanpur, 13 May (HS). Voting started at 7 am in Kanpur and Akbarpur Lok Sabha seats of Kanpur Nagar district. After the voting ended at 6 pm, the fate of 11 candidates from Kanpur seat and nine from Akbarpur seat was captured in EVMs. After the voting was over, the polling parties left for the strong room located at Naubasta Galla Mandi with EVMs. According to District Election Officer Rakesh Kumar Singh, 53.06 and 57.66 percent voting took place in Kanpur and Akbarpur Lok Sabha seats respectively.
Voting started at 7 am on Monday in Kanpur Nagar district under the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024. Out of 10 assemblies of the district, five assemblies are in Kanpur Nagar Lok Sabha seat, four assemblies are in Akbarpur Lok Sabha seat and Bilhaur assembly seat is in Misrikh Lok Sabha seat. Voting started at a slow pace at 7 in the morning and till 9 o'clock, 9.95 percent voting was recorded in Kanpur and 12.17 percent voting in Akbarpur Lok Sabha seat. Voting increased in the next two hours and by 11 o'clock, 21.36 percent votes were cast in Kanpur and 25.63 percent in Akbarpur. After next two hours i.e. till 1 o'clock this figure reached 33.79 and 38.2 percent respectively. Till 3 pm, there was 41.42 percent voting in Kanpur Lok Sabha and 45.84 percent voting in Akbarpur Lok Sabha. By 5 o'clock this figure reached 50.81 and 54.82 percent respectively.
District Magistrate and District Election Officer Rakesh Kumar Singh said that the voting was peaceful and tight security arrangements were made by the administration. There were special arrangements for the disabled and senior citizens and there were no irregularities of any kind nor did any voter face any problems. District Election Officer said that about 53.06 percent voting took place in Kanpur Lok Sabha and 57.66 percent voting took place in Akbarpur. However, the complete data has not come yet.

Similarly, from Akbarpur Lok Sabha seat, Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Devendra Singh alias Bhole, Samajwadi Party's Rajaram Pal, Bahujan Samaj Party's Rajesh Kumar Dwivedi, Bharatiya Shakti Chetna Party's Chandresh Singh, Rashtriya Jan Utthan Party's Ram Gopal, independent Yogesh Jaiswal and There are nine candidates including Rajaram.
