What is Fastag?

Whenever you pass through a toll plaza on a highway, you have to pay toll tax. Earlier there used to be long queues at toll plazas, to solve this the government had started the facility of Fastag. This is a type of electronic toll collection. FASTag is a radio frequency identification tag which is affixed on the windscreen of the vehicle. It is linked to a prepaid account, so that whenever you pass through a toll plaza, you do not have to stop there and the device installed at the toll immediately scans this card and the toll is automatically deducted. According to the government order, Fastag will have to be installed on every four-wheeler and big vehicles in the country.
