The agitating farmers from Shambhu border of Haryana-Punjab had set out for the Delhi march on Friday, but about two and a half hours after the start of the march, they had to retreat. The march was stopped after a clash between Haryana Police and farmers at Shambhu border.

Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher, while addressing the press conference, said that now a group of 101 farmers will march to Delhi on Sunday, December 8 at 12 noon. We are ready for talks. Tomorrow (Saturday) is reserved for talks with the central government. We will wait till tomorrow. We want dialogue to happen. We do not want conflict with the government, we will remain peaceful. As soon as 101 farmers moved ahead to enter Haryana at Shambhu border today, Haryana Police tried its best to stop them. The farmers were forced to return after the Haryana Police fired tear gas shells to disperse the agitating farmers. 8 people have been injured in the police action, out of which the condition of two people is critical.
