Moradabad, July 11 (HS). Moradabad's District Horticulture Officer Gaya Prasad said on Thursday that 42 varieties of mangoes of 16 farmers (horticulturists) of the district will be included in the three-day mango festival starting from July 12 at Avadh Bihar Sector-9 on Shaheed Marg in Lucknow. Farmers have reached Lucknow with samples of their mangoes.
Gaya Prasad informed that a three-day Van Mahotsav is being organized by the Horticulture Department. An exhibition of major mangoes grown in all 75 districts of the state will be organized in this festival which is being organized with the objective of promoting mango cultivation in the state.
He informed that for the exhibition, 30 samples of mangoes of different varieties from the orchards of different gardeners have been sought from each district of the division. Out of which 42 samples of different varieties provided by 16 farmers of the district have been received at the district headquarters.
