Rajpura: The problems of the Railways are increasing due to the strike by farmers on the railway track at Shambhu railway station in Rajpura. Due to the strike, 106 trains of Firozpur division were affected on Monday. 41 trains had to be cancelled. 60 trains had to be cancelled. Railways has decided to cancel 80 trains till Wednesday. These also include trains running from Delhi to Punjab. Railway officials say that the situation is being monitored. Officials are in touch with Punjab and Haryana government
On the other hand, Senior DCM of Firozpur Railway Division, Paramdeep Singh Saini said that due to cancellation of trains in Firozpur Division in five days, a refund of Rs 25.09 lakh has been given to 4765 passengers. Passengers are facing a lot of problems due to rail traffic being affected for the last six days. Due to diversion of routes of long distance trains, trains are running late.
The decision to intensify the movement will be taken in the Mahapanchayat to be held in Jind on 27th.
On the other hand, under the leadership of United Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, a large number of farmers arrived to participate in the Mahapanchayat to be held in Jind, Haryana on Monday. Due to this, the number of protesting farmers in Shambhu remained less. However, no decision was taken in the Mahapanchayat held in Jind. It has been decided in the Mahapanchayat that the next decision to intensify the movement will be taken on April 27. After this, the farmers sitting on the railway track in Shambhu also held a meeting in the evening. Farmer leaders say that the protest on the railway track will continue until the farmers Anish Khatkar, Navdeep Singh and Gurkirat Singh arrested by Haryana Police are released.
