RS Pura, June 7 (HS). Farmers are not getting canal water due to the breakage of a part of the canal near the border village Bega of RS Pura. Farmers are demanding that the broken part of the canal be repaired as soon as possible so that farmers can get canal water.
On this issue, on Friday, the farmers of the area, under the leadership of Congress leader Chaudhary Mohan Singh, protested strongly against the irrigation department outside the SDM office and warned that if this problem of the farmers is not resolved soon, then in the coming days the farmers will be forced to launch a big agitation.
On this occasion, SDM RS Pura Seema Parihar assured the protesting farmers that their problem would be resolved soon. On this occasion, farmer leader Chaudhary Mohan Singh said that for the last few years, farmers are not getting canal water due to the breakage of a part of the canal. Last year, the irrigation department had temporarily repaired the broken part and assured the farmers that soon the canal part would be repaired permanently, but the irrigation department did not repair the part of the canal, due to which farmers are not getting canal water.
Chaudhary Mohan Singh said that at present farmers are in dire need of water for paddy seedlings and the fodder planted for the animals is also drying up without water. But the irrigation department is not paying any attention to this. He said that if the irrigation department does not take action as soon as possible and does not start the repair work of the canal, then in the coming days the farmers of the area will be forced to stage a big protest. On this occasion, SDM RS Pura said that instructions will be given to the officials of the irrigation department to solve this problem soon.
