Mirzapur, 29 August (HS). State Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh laid the foundation stone of nine connecting roads in the rural area on Thursday. He inaugurated the Mini Center of Excellence built under the MNREGA scheme at the Government Nursery Visundarpur. He instructed the Deputy Director Mandi to immediately start work on each connecting road for which the foundation stone has been laid so that it can be used by the public.
State Minister Shri Singh, who arrived at the two-day training workshop organized under the Integrated Horticulture Development Mission Scheme, distributed fruit saplings such as mango, amla etc. to the farmers. Explaining the importance of trees, he said that while trees provide shade to people, they also give the message of humanity. He said that trees grow by working hard, give fruits and flowers but instead of consuming them themselves, they dedicate them to people. He appealed that to keep the environment balanced, everyone should plant at least one tree or do gardening wherever there is vacant space.
He praised Deputy Director Horticulture Mewaram and District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan for promoting Dragon Food, Strawberry, Mushroom Production, Poly House, Prime Minister Agricultural Irrigation Scheme, Drop More Crop etc. schemes and banana cultivation in Mirzapur and taking action to increase the income of farmers by linking them with other income generating farming besides traditional farming. He said that ever since the double engine government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been formed, continuous efforts have been made to increase and double the income of farmers. He said that farmers should get information about the schemes and join them and double their income. The state government is ready for every possible help.
Construction of Common Incubation Centre at a cost of Rs. 3.5 crore
While talking about the Common Incubation Centre, Shri Singh said that it is being constructed at the cost of Rs. 3.5 crore on the premises of Government Nursery Visundarpur, which has three processing lines like tomato ketchup, bakery, mustard etc. Small entrepreneurs can bring their raw material to these centres and get it processed and can earn profit by selling their products under their brand name. He said that the state government is giving huge subsidy on many agricultural equipment. All farmers can take advantage of this by getting information from the Horticulture Department and Agriculture Department.
Farmers should get benefit by doing date palm gardening
The minister said that date palm saplings of tissue culture have been brought and planted in government nurseries in Mirzapur district. To promote this, more date palm saplings will be sent so that farmers can get benefits by doing date palm gardening. Addressing the farmers, he said that cultivation of strawberry and dragon fruit etc. should be promoted in Mirazpur district so that the products here can be sent abroad. He said that the government is giving subsidy on setting up packaging system and infrastructure. Farmers should come forward and work in this direction so that they can send their products to the market after good packaging and get a good price for it.
Farmers cultivate flowers
Emphasizing on flower cultivation, he said that there is a lot of consumption of flowers in Maa Vindhyavasini Dham and Kashi Vishwanath Varanasi. Flowers are brought to Varanasi from West Bengal. Whereas the local and nearby people produce only five to ten percent of the daily consumption of flowers. If farmers cultivate flowers, then there can be good consumption in Varanasi.
MLA should provide list of road repair and construction
He asked the District Magistrate for a proposal to build a Vataslay Yoga Park. Identify land around Vindhya Dham and submit the proposal. He said that the MLA should provide a list of such roads in his area which can be repaired and constructed so that work can be done in that direction immediately.
