Hamirpur, 01 October (HS). Farmers have now started preparations to improve the health of the soil of Bundelkhand. For this, the department has decided to give seeds as grant to promote the cultivation of Dhencha. A senior officer of the department says that the manure prepared from Dhencha farming will give bumper yield of crops.

In Bundelkhand, the demand for chemical fertilizers for farming has increased in the last few decades. Every year, farmers have to struggle a lot for fertilizer during Kharif and Rabi seasons. In rural areas, many farmers were at risk for fertilizer. Last year, some farmers had to lose their lives due to severe shortage of fertilizers. The administration also had to distribute fertilizer before the police. At many places, farmers created ruckus over non-availability of fertiliser. Agricultural scientists have launched a big campaign to prepare green manure instead of chemical fertilizers.

Deputy Director Agriculture Harishankar Bhargava said that the department provides seeds to the farmers as subsidy for the cultivation of Dhencha. This time a demand for fifty kilos of seeds has been made from the government. Told that the manure prepared from Dhencha crop also leads to bumper production of crops. Told that the scientists of Government Agricultural Science Center have made the farmers aware about making green manure from Dhencha crop in Kurara area here. How this fertilizer will be prepared in the fields and its benefits have been explained in detail to the farmers. He told that 15 to 20 tonnes per hectare green manure is prepared in the soil from Dhencha crop. In which the soil gets nitrogen, potassium, zinc, copper, manganese, iron and other elements. Its use increases the amount of organic matter in the field. And the physical condition of the farm also improves.

Crops will get a big dose of nutrients

Deputy Director Agriculture Harishankar Bhargava said that Dhencha is an excellent option to make agricultural land fertile and its use in farming leads to more and better production of crops. Told that due to continuous use of chemical fertilizers the health of the soil of the farm has deteriorated. Which is also having a direct impact on the environment. Therefore, farmers should now do green manure of Dhencha. He told that the green manure of Dhenta will supply 16 nutrients and the production of crops will also be good.

Dhencha's compost will also improve the health of the soil.

Deputy Director Agriculture Harishankar Bhargava said that for the last several decades, farmers have been using chemical fertilizers in farming, due to which the fertility of agricultural land is also decreasing. In such a situation, compost will prove to be a panacea for making agricultural land fertile. Told that Dhencha is harvested from April to July. In this, 40 to 50 kg of Dhencha seeds are required per hectare. For this, it is plowed and mixed in the soil when it is 40 to 45 days old and before flowering.

There will be bumper production from manure of Dhencha crop.

Agricultural scientist Dr. SP Sonkar said that the green manure of Dhencha will give a bumper yield of crops. At the same time, the crop prepared from this fertilizer is also beneficial for health. Told that green manure of Dhencha produces organic matter which makes the land fertile. He told that along with the nutrients from Dhencha manure, it also has the ability to deal with drought. Deputy Director Agriculture Harishankar Bhargava said that Dhencha fertilizer will increase production and will also provide relief to farmers from expensive chemical fertilizers.
