Kankroli, Bureau. This time Holi is going to be a happy one for the farmers of the area. The pleasant result of last year’s good rains and the overflowing of reservoirs is now visible in the form of a flourishing golden crop of wheat in the fields. Due to favorable temperature and better irrigation facilities, a bumper yield of wheat is expected this time. The crop is ripe and harvesting is about to begin from the last week of March. To double the enthusiasm of the farmers, the government has also geared up to purchase at support price.

Price will be higher than market: Expected up to ₹ 2735 per quintal

This year the government has fixed the minimum support price (MSP) of wheat at ₹2585 per quintal. But the biggest good news for farmers is that the bonus of ₹ 150 per quintal announced in the state budget can also be added to it. If this bonus is implemented, farmers will get a price of up to ₹ 2735 per quintal for their produce. At present, the price of wheat in the local markets is between ₹ 2250 to ₹ 2350, in such a situation, selling the crop at government centers will not be a loss-making deal for the farmers, but will prove to be a huge profit.

According to Jan Aadhaar card, any adult member of the family can come to the center with his crop, but verification by putting his thumb on the machine will be mandatory. This will completely stop middlemen and fraud.
