Hamirpur, 29 August (HS). For the first time in Bundelkhand, farmers have bet on the cultivation of Aparajita flowers. The cultivation of Aparajita flowers, which gives huge profits at low cost, will change the fortunes of farmers in the coming days. At present, a big smile is being seen on the faces of farmers due to the blooming of blue flowers on the vine of Aparajita on the unused land.
The financial condition of lakhs of farmers engaged in traditional farming in Bundelkhand is still bad. Every year, due to natural calamities, farmers' crops suffer huge losses. Last year, the Kharif crops were ruined due to unseasonal rains and hailstorms, while the Rabi crops also suffered a major setback due to bad weather. That is why, apart from traditional farming, the farmers here have taken steps towards such farming which gives many times more profit at low cost. These days, farmers have started cultivating Aparajita flowers for the first time in Hamirpur, Mahoba and all the surrounding areas.
Farmers in many villages of Gohand and Rath area of Hamirpur district have bet on the cultivation of Aparajita flowers. Raghuveer Singh of Chilli village said that for the first time Aparajita plants have been planted on one bigha of spare land. At present, the vine of Aparajita flowers has grown quite big. Beautiful blue flowers have also started blooming in it. He said that the scope of its cultivation will be increased in the next season. District Horticulture Officer Ashish Katiyar said that the department is not giving subsidy to the farmers cultivating it right now. He said that the cultivation of Aparajita flowers will increase the additional income of the farmers.
Farmers started cultivating Aparajita flowers on unused land
Farmers have started cultivating Aparajita flowers on barren land in Chilli Gohani village of Gohand area of Hamirpur district. Raghuveer Singh and other farmers who cultivate it said that this is a medicinal plant which increases income manifold. He said that the seeds of Aparajita flower were purchased at the rate of two thousand rupees per kg and the seeds were sown on one bigha of land. Now its vine is growing rapidly in the fields.
Cultivation of Aparajita flowers will generate three times more income
Farmer Rishi Shukla said that farmers can earn huge profits by cultivating Aparajita flowers. He said that its cultivation can be done in any environment. The fields are filled with Aparajita flowers even in conditions of heat and drought. Farmer Raghuveer Singh said that the cost of its cultivation is very low but it gives three times the profit. That is why farmers have turned towards its cultivation.
Now farmers will brighten their fortunes by cultivating Aparajita flowers
Farmers suffering from financial crisis have started to brighten their fortunes by cultivating Aparajita flowers. Farmers told that up to ten quintals of flowers are obtained from cultivating Aparajita flowers in one acre. Its flowers are sold in the market for five hundred rupees per kg. Tea manufacturing companies buy Aparajita flowers from farmers. District Horticulture Officer Ashish Katiyar told that farmers have started its cultivation at their own expense.
