Farmers angry over not getting compensation for damage caused by floods are opposing BJP as well as AAP candidates

Chandigarh: Farmers are continuously protesting against the Bharatiya Janata Party for ignoring the farmers' issues, not implementing the agreed demands and stopping them from going to the national capital Delhi. The situation in the state has become such that farmers are not allowing BJP candidates to enter the villages. Not only BJP candidates are being opposed but some candidates of Aam Aadmi Party are also being opposed. Considering the vote bank, no political party is able to compete with the farmers. Leaders of all parties including Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann are supporting the demands of the farmers.

While candidates are facing difficulties in election campaigning due to farmers' protest, the law and order situation in the state is also worsening. BJP candidate from Faridkot Hans Raj Hans, BJP candidate from Bathinda Parmapal Kaur, Preneet Kaur from Patiala, Taranjit Singh Sandhu from Amritsar Sahib are continuously being surrounded by farmers. Farmers are continuously creating disturbance to stop BJP candidates from campaigning.

Farmers say that the demands of the farmers have been ignored by the central government. Even the farmers were not allowed to go ahead at the Shambhu barrier to stop them from going to Delhi. Farmer Shubhakaran Singh died after being shot by Haryana Police.

Farmers are also opposing the common man candidate from Bathinda and Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudia. Similarly, farmers are also protesting against the remarks made by Bhuchho Mandi MLA Jagseer Singh against farmers.

Recently, during a program, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said in favor of the farmers that you (Central Government) did not allow the farmers to go to Delhi. The owners of the villages are farmers and now the farmers do not allow you to enter the villages. This statement of the Chief Minister has given more strength to the farmers.

The farmers' protest at Shambhu railway station under the leadership of United Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) continues for the fourth day today. Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher has appealed to the farmers and voters of Punjab to keep in mind the death of farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri, non-implementation of demands and the death of Shubhakaran Singh before voting. Pandher attacked the Central government as well as the AAP government, saying that the Chief Minister had promised to compensate for the loss of crops and even the loss of chickens during floods in the state a few months ago, but the AAP government Has failed to provide security. Farmers were not given any compensation for their crops. Pandher said that there was a lot of damage to the crops due to the sudden rain and hailstorm yesterday. Overall, the candidates in the state are facing the anger of the farmers.
