Farmer who went to harvest paddy in the field died due to electrocution

Jhajjar, 2 November (Hindustan Reporter). A farmer working in his field in village Bhurawas, about 26 kilometers from district headquarters Jhajjar, died due to electrocution. The electricity corporation is being held responsible for the accident. Sandeep, a young farmer from Bhurawas village, had gone to his field on Saturday morning to harvest the paddy crop. The high tension electric line wire was lying broken in his field.

When he tried to remove the wire to harvest his crop, he got a severe electric shock. When the family members and other people working in the fields noticed it, they started rescue work and Sandeep, who was burnt by electric current, was taken to the hospital. Where the doctor examined and declared him dead. Family members say that before touching the wire, Sandeep had informed the lineman and requested to remove the wire, but the lineman told Sandeep that there is no current in this wire and he should remove the wire for harvesting the crop. While electricity was being supplied through the wire, when Sandeep started removing the wire, he lost his life.

Farmer Sandeep's wife has filed a complaint with the police demanding legal action against the lineman of the electricity corporation and getting justice. In the complaint, the woman has said that when her husband listened to the lineman and started removing the wire from his field, the accident happened. The woman has demanded legal action not only against the lineman but also against the junior engineer, sub-divisional engineer and executive engineer of the electricity corporation. She has also sought adequate compensation on the death of her husband. The woman has said that her husband had complained several times to the Electricity Corporation officials requesting them to remove the high tension line from his fields but he was not heard and he lost his life. If the hanging wires of the high tension line had been repaired on time or the line had been removed, the accident would not have happened.
