Farmer protest: Farmers' Delhi march postponed for two days, next strategy will be decided on 23 February

Farmers, troubled by the anti-farmer policies of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre, had announced a march to Delhi. Now the farmers have postponed this announcement for two days.

The Delhi Chalo protest march of farmers protesting against the central government over various demands has been postponed for two days.

Chief farmer leader of Punjab Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee Sarwan Singh Pandher made this announcement on Wednesday evening. He said that further strategy will be decided on Friday evening.

He said that we will discuss the incident that happened in Khanauri. Our march to Delhi will be a two-day journey. We will clarify the entire situation later. The farmers made this announcement after the Center appealed for a second round of talks.

Union Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda said that there are farmers all over the country. While making policy, it is important to keep in mind the interest of the farmers of the entire country. Keeping this in mind, we will work to address their concerns in the coming days.

Farmer organizations resumed their protest march in Delhi on Wednesday after the fourth round of talks with the Center failed. A government panel comprising three Union ministers had proposed procurement of pulses, maize and cotton crops at MSP by government agencies for five years after discussions with farmers, but farmer leaders have rejected the proposal.

Thousands of farmers will remain camping on both the borders during the lull in the agitation over their demands, including legal guarantee of minimum support price for crops and farm loan waiver.
