Faridabad, August 12 (HS). Haryana's Education Minister Seema Trikha said that today we are living our lives here with happiness and peace, because our army soldiers are protecting the borders. Seema Trikha participated as the chief guest in the Tiranga Yatra organized in SGM Nagar on Monday. This Yatra started from Patel Chowk and ended at Badkhal Lake. Education Minister Seema Trikha first of all paid homage to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's statue by anointing it with milk and offering a flower garland.

Seema Trikha said that today we are paying homage to Patel ji who united all the princely states of the country and Patel has a huge contribution in making India India, that is why his statue is called the Statue of Liberty and all the people who were martyred on 15th August due to the air engine our country got independence, today we are paying homage to them and taking out a Tiranga Yatra from Patel Chowk to Badkhal Lake and along with this, under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign and as a tribute to the horror of Partition, 1800 plants are being planted by school children in Badkhal Lake for the prosperity of every martyr. This will beautify Badkhal Lake and will also benefit the environment. She said that this independence has been achieved by the sacrifices of our ancestors and freedom fighters. We all should celebrate this festival with great pomp and show. So that our coming generations always remember the importance of independence.
