Faridabad: No vehicle will run in election campaign without permission: Vikram Singh

Faridabad, May 6 (HS). District Magistrate Vikram Singh said that it is necessary to control such malpractices to conduct smooth and fair elections of Faridabad Lok Sabha General Elections-2024. No candidate will be allowed to use any vehicle for campaigning without a permit. He said that the permit can be obtained from the office of the Returning Officer of the concerned assembly constituency.

District Magistrate Vikram Singh said that during elections, no political party or candidate can use loudspeakers for election campaign without the prior permission of the concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrate. Can be used only between 6 am to 10:00 pm. District Magistrate Vikram Singh said that no political party or candidate will use vehicles of independent candidates or dummy candidates for their own campaign to avoid the upper limit of expenditure to be incurred by a candidate. In such cases, any vehicle belonging to the independent candidate or dummy candidate, details of which have been provided by the independent candidate, will also be confiscated.

If it is found that it has been used by other candidates and legal action will be taken against both the candidates. District Magistrate Vikram Singh said that the candidates are directed to immediately submit the details of the vehicles being used by them for election campaign to the concerned Returning Officer of the Assembly Constituency. The concerned returning officer will provide the list of vehicles to the observers, District Election Officer as well as the Police Commissioner. District Magistrate Vikram Singh further said that if a candidate is found to be using a personal vehicle without giving any information then it would be legal. Along with the candidate using such vehicles, action will also be taken against the vehicle owner.
