District Election Officer Vikram Singh held a review meeting with ROs and AROs regarding the preparations for the Lok Sabha general elections at the camp office on Saturday.
District Election Officer Vikram Singh said that on May 25, make sure to make seating arrangements for Presiding Officers, Assistant Presiding Officers and all other arrangements including EVM, VVPAT, CU, PU, Ballot Control Unit inside the polling center as per the instructions of the Election Commission. . At the same time, all other arrangements including test vote, mock poll, proxy vote should be completed as per the instructions of the Commission. He said that voters should not carry mobile phones, electronic gadgets, electronic watches, spy cameras etc. inside the polling booth, as there is a possibility of breaking the secrecy of voting.
He clarified that only the presiding officer will be allowed to keep the mobile. Voters should carry only identity documents with them. District Election Officer Vikram Singh said that in view of the summer season, special arrangements will be made at the polling stations on the day of voting on May 25. Basic facilities including tents, fans, drinking water will be ensured for protection from heat wave and for shade. Apart from this, the BLO will also give information to the voters through the queue management app about how many people are in the queue to vote, so that there is not too much crowd at the polling station at one time and the voter does not have to wait for a long time to cast his vote. Where there are disabled voters and to facilitate their voting, the administration has made arrangements for ramps at the polling stations. For the convenience of disabled people, wheelchairs will be sent.
According to the instructions issued by the Election Commission, the administration will take special care of the disabled people for the 2024 General Lok Sabha elections. So that they do not have to face any kind of difficulties in the process of voting.
