Faridabad: 815.95 metric tons of millet was purchased in Ballabhgarh and Tigaon Mandi.

Faridabad, 24 October (Hindustan Reporter). 815.95 metric tonnes of millet has been purchased in the mandis of the district. 457 farmers of the district have so far come to the markets of Ballabhgarh and Tigaon to sell millet. Giving this information on Thursday, Deputy Commissioner Vikram Singh said that millet is being procured by Haryana State Warehouse Corporation. Procurement work is being done smoothly in the markets of Ballabhgarh and Tigaon. He informed that 815.95 metric tonnes of millet has been purchased at the support price of Rs 2625 per quintal.

Farmers should bring their millet to the market only after drying and cleaning it. Farmers who have registered themselves on the Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal can come to the market any day and get their gate pass deducted. The Deputy Commissioner said that the work of lifting the crop from the markets is going on. So far, 815.95 metric tonnes of millet has been delivered to the warehouses and 182.95 metric tonnes is still lying in the market. Instructions have been given to the contractors to ensure the lifting of the crop as soon as possible. For which the number of loading vehicles and workers should be increased. Proper arrangements for electricity, water and rest have been made at all three procurement centres.
