Firozabad, 25 September (HS). After the death of mother and child during delivery on Wednesday in the 100-bed hospital affiliated to the medical college, the angry family members created a ruckus in the hospital. The family members have accused the doctors and other staff of negligence leading to the death of mother and child. The family members calmed down after the police and administrative officials assured them of investigation and action.
On Wednesday, when Ruby, a resident of village Khanjapur of police station Rasulpur area, experienced labor pain, her family took her to the 100-bed hospital. The doctors operated on the woman. During this the newborn died while the woman's health deteriorated. The staff referred the woman to Agra, but she also died. The death of both the mother and the child created panic among the family members. The family members of the deceased and other villagers also reached the hospital in large numbers and started creating a ruckus. The bodies were kept at the gate of the hospital. On receiving information, City Magistrate Rajendra Prasad, CO City Arun Kumar Chaurasia along with a police team reached the site.
The pregnant woman's sister-in-law Diksha alleged that negligence was committed during the operation. No one was allowed to go inside and when the woman died, the doctors referred her to Agra. The officials pacified the family by explaining things to them.
In this regard, CO Arun Kumar Chaurasia says that an investigation will be conducted to find out how the woman died. The actual cause of death will be known from the post-mortem report. After investigation in this case, action will be taken against whoever is found guilty.
